In-Person vs. Live Online classes

Live Online Group classes are interactive and engaging video sessions in small groups that offer face-to-face learning without the need to leave your home.

What's the difference between Live Online Group classes and In-Person classes?

Live Online Group classes are conducted via Zoom using an internet connection. Zoom is a third party video conferencing software that is accessible from multiple devices (desktops, tablets and mobiles). 

After booking an online class, you will be sent a booking confirmation (and further reminder emails) with the link you'll need to join the class. This link takes you to your personal Classroom, where your class will become live 10 minutes before the start time.

In-person classes are conducted at locations in and around London, and require students to travel to the class location. You can choose to book a timetabled group class, or to book privately (depending on the teacher). 

Both online and in-person classes may require students to purchase materials before the class, so please check the "What you will need section" for your class, or look out for an email message from your teacher. 

Are Live Online Group classes the same quality as an In-Person class?

All classes added to Obby, whether online or in-person, are approved by our in house team who check to make sure each class and teacher meet our high quality standards.

Is there a difference in cancellation policies?

Yes, we have a different policy for each class format. This allows for our teachers to cover their costs for each class. 

Live Online Group classes have a 48 hrs cancellation policy. If you need to reschedule or cancel your booking, you must do this at least 2 days before the start time of your class. Reschedules and refunds will not be eligible after this time unless in exceptional circumstances. 

In-Person classes have a 7 day cancellation policy. If you need to reschedule or cancel your booking, you must do this at least 7 days before the start time of your class. Reschedules and refunds will not be eligible after this time unless in exceptional circumstances.
