Completing Your Profile & Getting Started!

When you join Obby, you'll automatically be taken through our quickstart guide: a three-step process which will fill out your profile, help you design your first class and let you take your first booking!

Here's an outline of what that journey looks like:

When you create your teaching account with us you'll be invited to put in your contact details, and the name of your school (this can, of course, be your own name if that's how you prefer to work), and your relevant contact details:

You'll then be led to our quick start guide. This will walk you through the three key areas for completing your profile and getting yourself set up and ready to take bookings on Obby.

1.

Section one 'complete your profile' invites you to add:

  • Description - Write in the third person, but big yourself up! Here is a good place to write about the qualifications you've got, where you've taught before, and why you chose to teach on Obby. Mention how excited you are about meeting others, the more like a friend you sound to potential customers, the more likely they are to love you and book with you!

  • Website and social links - these will be automatically linked to your Obby pages so customers can find out more about what you do!

  • Photo - you must add a photo of yourself or a logo to identify your school. A picture of you with the product your students make, or teaching a class, are best! See more of our guidelines here: 📋Obby Image Guidelines

When you're all done, click save, and you'll be moved on to section 2.

2.

Section 2 'add your first class' will walk you through all the steps to add a class. Including title, description, SEO keywords, price, date and location.

If you're happy with your class at the end of this process, you can click 'Publish Class' and you'll go live straight away on Obby. Otherwise, you can save the class as a draft, and come back to polish it later.

3.

In section 3, you'll be taken to the plans page, where you can see more information about our range of services and features.

Once you confirm which plan you'd like, you will have completed the quickstart guide, and your whole dashboard will open up.

You should then navigate to the Settings section, on the left hand side of your dashboard, and click Business Settings, fill that in, then Bank and Finance. You can then add your teaching location(s), your bank details (so you can get paid!), and view or update your plan.
