Stripe Connect
We've launched a new way to pay teachers for bookings, products, gift cards and private payments. This means that every Obby user will move to a min 2 week payment cycle for post-event payments.
How does it work?
To get started, you need to connect to Obby's stripe account under the 'Settings', 'Bank/Finance' section > Here. Further instructions on how to connect are below.
Once connected, all bookings, purchases, gift cards and private payment links made after that point will be paid out under the new Stripe Connect payment cycles.
Any bookings, purchases, gift cards and private payment links made prior to connecting will still be paid using our weekly or monthly payment cycles. For example, if a customer booked on Black Friday 2021 for a class happening on the 1st August 2022, you will be paid for this on the last working day of August (or the next week if on Growth or Enterprise plans).
This means it's very important to keep your Bank Details up to date within the Finance section if you have any bookings made before connecting, that you are still waiting to be paid.
When will I get paid?
Connecting to Obby's Stripe account allows all teachers to get paid faster. However, payouts differ depending on your plan and booking/purchase type. See below for a breakdown of the payout rules.
Marketplace-Only:
All bookings & purchases = 14 days after the class date or dispatch date
Lite, Standard, Growth & Enterprise Plans:
Marketplace bookings & purchases = 14 days after the class date or dispatch date
Widget bookings & purchases = 2 days after the class date or dispatch date
Widget gift cards = 14 days after the redemption date
Private Payment links = 2 days after the class date
The numbers in bold represent the day money is transferred from Stripe. Please note that the time it takes for payouts to appear in your account will depend on your bank.
How to get set up
Get set up with Stripe Connect within your Settings, under the Bank/Finance section.
Click the "Connect Stripe" button, and you'll be taken directly to the Stripe set-up.

Once in Stripe, the steps are relatively simple. You'll need to enter your mobile and email to start, which will generate a verification code sent to your phone, which you'll need in order to continue set up.
Once through, you'll be asked to provide details about your type of business and industry, as well as your personal details, and business account details.
When you've moved through the process, simply click "Done" and you'll be all set up!
You can then go back to your dashboard, and open your account from the same Finance section at any time.
